Description
Reaction Monitoring Directly Where Chemistry Happens
The ALPHA II INSITU-ATR allows infrared spectra to be recorded directly from the reaction medium. Instead of analyzing a removed sample, the reaction is monitored in place. This provides access to spectral changes as they occur and supports a more complete understanding of reactant consumption, product formation, intermediate species, and endpoint behavior.
Designed for Flexible Use with the ALPHA II Platform
The INSITU-ATR module extends the ALPHA II platform for reaction monitoring applications while preserving the instrument concept of application-specific configurations. The module provides direct optical access to the reaction medium and can be used for workflows where laboratory-scale synthesis, method development, or process understanding require time-resolved infrared data.
Furthermore, exchanging the front module with one of the other ALPHA II QuickSnap modules makes the system suitable for laboratories that need compact FT-IR instrumentation for both routine analytical work and dedicated reaction studies, without separating reaction monitoring from the established ALPHA II environment.
- Monitoring of organic and inorganic reactions.
- Reaction endpoint determination.
- Observation of reactant consumption and product formation.
- Investigation of intermediates and side reactions.
- Kinetic studies and reaction profile comparison.
- Optimization of synthesis parameters.
- Support of scale-up and process transfer studies.
