Description
Pulsating extraction columns are operated continuously counter current wise. In order to intensify the mass transfer between the phases, it is essential for the benefit of enlargement and regeneration of the exchange surfaces that the liquid phases are constantly broken up into droplets at the sieve plates and are subjected to intensive mixing as a result of the pulsating liquid column, for example by means of a membrane piston pump. Variation of the amplitude and/or the frequency of tuning the system for optimal drop distribution.
The system is available with a column diameter of 50 or 80 mm and is designed for studying separation processes in industrial R & D – centres and universities.
